This anthology of the work of Tom Of Finland comes highly recommended by me. I was thrilled to add this volume to my collection of his work. It is by no means absolutely comprehensive, but it offers a stunning array of illustrations of his work. My praise for this book cannot be high enough, it is not only thrilling, but enlightening, and educating in many ways.If you're familiar at all with the work of Tom of Finland, You want this book in your collection, even if you are not familiar with the work of Tom of Finland, You want to add this book to your collection. A stunning display of gay erotic art, but also a vital part of the great gay tableau of history.

If you are a fan of Tom of Finland, you already know what to expect. What you may not expect is the true mastery of this collection of his work. Published by Taschen, the volume itself is a work of art!! HUGE in size and a truly magnificent example of the bookbinder's art. The embossed dust jacket is formed from heavy style art paper and is a work of art in and of itself. Nearly every image is printed as a full page on heavy art stock paper with exceptional detail--many works are done as double page spreads! To further enhance the book and the art as well, a number of the works are done as double gatefolds equalling 4 complete pages!!!! There is even a beautiful white satin ribbon sewn into the spine of the book as a bookmark. The book comes in a superbly designed cardboard "briefcase" complete with carrying handle and the image from the cover of the book printed on the face as shown above. Tom's art has finally been elevated from being considered as merely pornographic to the true art that it definitely is. Be forewarned--it is not a book that can just be left on the "coffee table". Many people will not appreciate the content which is explicit---it depicts males in all forms of pleasure between one another and makes no apologies for its content. You owe it to yourself to own this volume!!! I have seen this book listed for $400 in some places and at approx. $150 here on Amazon, it's a steal. Every dollar you spend for it is returned ten fold when you see the quality and artistry that has been lovingly placed into this volume. ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
