This is the cutest book ever ! My daughter loves everything about cats ! She wears clothes with cats , she favorites stuffed animal is a cat and she always asking me to find books about cats . When this book got delivered my little girl was so happy to see wonderful pictures of kitty and bunny I knew it would be her favorite book for a while. This book is adorable, the little poems are so easy to read . The illustrations are wonderful . My daughter is reading this book to herself almost every night. I am so happy I found it ! Highly recommended to everyone!

Such a solid book for my 8-year-old son. He's obsessed with bunnies, and this is written beautifully. This is the kind of book that will stay with him well into adulthood. We read together around 45 minutes every day, and we continually come back to this book. It's magic.

My youngest son loves any stories about animals. Cats are first and bunnies are second. This book has both so it's been a winner. No kidding I have to read this one with him a lot.

My daughter received this book in paperback when she turned 4 and wanted the hard cover the next year. The story is very appealing to little girls who love bunnies and/or cats. This is a classic your child will want to keep for years to come, and even hand down to her/his own children. The hardcover has a coating to help it survive wear and tear. Cloth would have been a better choice for a child's private library, but one is not available available at this time. I was a little disappointed, but the book will still do the job.

Exceptional writing from Clare Turlay Newberry, she is both the author and illustrator. Wonderful story and pictures because the text is better than you see from most children's books. I highly recommend this treasure.

This is a beautiful story. My 3 year old grandson is going to love it when finally we get to read it together. The illustrations are so very sweet.

This one is a classic, and I bought a copy for my grandson because Easter is coming, and we aren't doing chocolate. He is too young to enjoy it yet, but the perfect ages for beautiful picture books are so few--starting at about age 3 and ending around 6 or 7 years of age--that I am ready for a head start. The story involves a bunny that comes to live in the same home as a cat. The family keeps them apart at first, but gradually they become friends, and it is adorable. The illustrations are not the big, colorful, page-covering displays that we find in a lot of today's children's books; this one is old school, with spare, simple, but endearing art work. In some ways this makes it easier for the child, who won't be overstimulated, and will know exactly what part of the picture to look at.The book itself is full size. I only mention this because I bought another hard cover picture book, another classic that set me back more than this one did, and it had been shrunken down to the size of a paperback book. Yes, they tell us the dimensions, but with a child's hardcover book that I've seen before, I don't always check, and maybe you don't either. The only downside to this lovely book, as you might imagine, is the one I encountered when I bought it for my own children many years ago: if you have a bunny already, your child will ask for a cat. Well of course they will. If you have a cat already, they will ask for a bunny. I don't know what happens if you have neither, because we always had one or the other, but dear heaven, not both.

Beautiful yet understated art work. Great story. Probably best for ages 3 to 8.
